- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I have been a member for a while at SCFCU and I rcently had the pleasure of working with Richard V. I recently moved from SC to AZ and i had to purchase a vehicle in AZ. Richard went above and beyond to help me out with my car loan. He answered all my questions and guided me through the entire process. I was able to shop with confidence and that meant a lot to me. - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Had an issue w/ overdraft protection, was charged $35(my fault), then immediately asked to opt out of service, was told it was done. Deployed to Afghanistan. Knew there were many loose ends to tie up, was able to resolve all except SCFCU. Was charged again $35, I asked to plz get rid of overdraft protection,(while still able to communicate frm Germany)was told again, in no uncertain terms, it was done. It can take weeks to transfer billing to an armed service account, & I knew this so when a mass of Amazon (food & household supplies) orders were auto billed to ship separately over a period of time & I didnt worry as Amazon will just not ship items if not paid. I simply needed SC fed credit union to stop the overdraft protection option! They DID NOT after being told it was done(twice) Being Infantry I was incommunicado for weeks @ a time. Once home, I have tried to talk to bank employees, to help me understand how this is OK to do to anyone. I can say I see the odd situation from their perspective, but if they had just done what they told me they did, it would have saved me this financial hardship (as the military doesn't pay much) I have been met w/only shrugs & curt explanations, which don't work after the fact "I opted OUT" SCFCU took advantage of this & ultimately took almost $2000 from my family.By Antony Ferro, April 08, 2017
